Hinkle Law Firm LLC bankruptcy practice scores victory

Martin R. Ufford, a Member in Hinkle Law Firm’s bankruptcy practice, scored a major victory last week on behalf of client American Enterprise Bank based out of Chicago. Martin was able to win a summary judgment motion that he filed for his client, which resulted in a money judgment of nearly $1.7 million. He also received a judgment of foreclosure allowing his client to foreclose on a commercial property.

Just as important, however, the court entered summary judgment in favor of Mr. Ufford’s client as to all fraud counterclaims asserted against them by borrowers. The borrowers were seeking damages in excess of $2 million. The decision was entered by newly-elected Sedgwick County District Court Judge Jeff Dewey.
